Natalie Owens
LMHC, NCC
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York and received a Masters degree from Liberty University in Mental Health Counseling. I have several years of experience working in community mental health working with individuals as well as leading psychoeducational groups to support others in developing a greater quality of life and improving emotional and mental health.
I believe the therapeutic process is most effective when it is approached as a collaborative effort and seek to walk alongside you on this healing journey. I see each client as an expert of themselves with the capacity for self-direction and growth. I offer an enthusiastic and present energy within sessions and am passionate about creating a space where you can “exhale” and cultivate tools for a greater quality of life.
My Approach
I am a Psychodynamic oriented therapist who takes a holistic approach in exploring the underlying emotional and psychological elements that influence our current thoughts, behaviors, and relationships.
Through a collaborative, reflective process, I help individuals gain insight into these patterns, particularly those that developed early in life or in significant relationships. By examining these underlying issues, one can achieve a deeper understanding of themselves and begin to make lasting changes in how they relate to others and navigate life's challenges.
I also utilize evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to equip individuals in identifying and reshaping negative thought patterns. This approach can support you to expand your awareness of how your thoughts impact your feelings, which then influences your actions. In developing greater awareness to this cycle and obtaining practical tools, my hope is that you will develop greater emotional resilience and confidence when navigating mental obstacles.
